Ian Shapinsky is an active concert pianist, teacher, and lecturer. He currently performs throughout the United States in solo piano recitals, concertos, chamber music, duo recitals with guest musicians, master classes, and lecture recitals, including programs for children and families. He has performed on radio, television, and live stage concerts.

At Juilliard, he accompanied the double-bass students of David Walter, many violin students of Dorothy Delay, the Spanish dance classes of Hector Zaraspe, and vocal students of Hans Heinz. He was on call whenever anyone needed an accompanist for any instrument.

One of Ian’s skills is his ability to step in at the last minute for other performers as a concert pianist, accompanist, and lecturer.

If requested, Ian will teach master classes in conjunction with his concerts, just prior or afterwards. On a weekly basis, Ian teaches beginning to advanced classes for children as young as four or five or to seniors well into their seventies. Ian also provides lectures on music and composers. If you would like more information, please click here to schedule an appointment.

“His fleet fingers enable him to perform the works fluently, and his interpretations told of musical understanding and expressive sensitivity.”
